The 13th Edition of the Carnival of Cultures in Berlin(9th to 12th May 2008)
Street Parade, Street Festival, Children's CarnivalWhen the lust for life and the delight of colours unite and old and young are dancing in the streets together and creating a festival of tolerance and variety then Berlin is celebrating the Carnival of Cultures. During the four-day festival 1.3 million visitors will experience the capital at its best: cosmopolitan, dynamic, buoyant, diverse and colourful.
Organised by the partners of the Carnival of Cultures give visitors the opportunity to experience Berlin’s remarkable DJ music and dance scene.
Berlin is a city with a large international population. Among the 3.4 million inhabitants of the German capital 450.000 do not have the German citizen-ship. Many more have a mixed ethnic background.
At the same period of time, Berlin attracted a growing number of artists from all over the world and a new cultural off-scene developed, which added to the cultural richness of Berlin. Berlin developed into one of Europe's music centres with a focus on different styles of electronically generated music.
